The pieces
Why are the pieces named after sea areas?
The sea areas around Britain are names many people know by heart, in the order they are read out. Each of our jumpers and cardigans takes one of those names and is knitted with something from its chart — depth contours, a coastline, soundings or a lighthouse. See The chart room.
What does “Same sea” mean?
Pieces that share a sea-area name share its pattern too: the Dogger Beanie, scarf and socks go with the Dogger Crew, for example. They are sold separately; each sea area has a page showing everything that carries its name and what the set costs together.
Is the pattern printed?
No. Jumpers, cardigans, beanies, scarves and socks are knitted in a jacquard: two colours of yarn interlock, so the pattern is part of the fabric. The totes are cotton canvas printed with a two-colour screen print.
What are the pieces made of?
Each product page states the composition. Most knits are 60% wool and 40% acrylic; the German Bight Roll Neck, Fastnet Lighthouse Yoke, Plymouth Shawl Collar Cardigan and Hebrides Chart Cardigan are pure wool; the Sole and Malin cardigans are cotton for summer. Beanies are a wool and acrylic blend and the socks are a wool blend with polyamide and elastane for strength and stretch.
Are the charts accurate?
No — they are drawings made for knitting, and the chart on our home page is decorative too. Please never use them for navigation.
Size and care
How do I choose my size?
Women’s pieces run UK 6–18 and men’s S–XXL, with the EU size beside each. Every product page has a size table with chest, length and sleeve in centimetres and inches; our Size guide explains how we measure.
How do I wash my jumper?
Hand wash cold, or use a wool cycle at 30°C. Reshape and dry flat, away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry or bleach. Cotton cardigans can go in a gentle 30°C wash. The care steps for each piece are on its page and on its label.
My jumper is pilling. Is that a fault?
Light pilling where a knit rubs (under the arms, at the cuffs) is normal for wool and wool blends, especially in the first weeks. Remove it gently with a fabric comb. If something looks wrong, email us a photo.
Prices and payment
Which currency will I pay in?
Prices follow the delivery country you choose at the top of the page: GBP for the UK, EUR for the euro area, DKK for Denmark, SEK for Sweden, NOK for Norway, CHF for Switzerland and USD for the United States. The currency code is shown next to every price and total, and you pay in that currency.
Is VAT included?
No VAT is added at checkout. For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, your country may charge import VAT, duties and a handling fee on delivery, paid by the recipient. See Shipping & delivery.
Is paying on this site safe?
Yes. The whole site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection and payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
Do you have discount codes?
No. We do not run discount codes or sales at the moment, so the price you see is the price for everyone.
Delivery and returns
Where do you deliver?
To the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and the United States. Costs and times are on Shipping & delivery.

Orders are dispatched within 1–3 working days, with tracking. Delivery then takes 2–4 working days in the UK and 4–12 working days elsewhere, depending on the country.
Can I return something?
